SP Hunt

Via licensed California PIs

Investigation stays with the licensee.

SP Hunt can support counsel with public-source research and a written scope. It does not investigate, and it does not hold a private investigator license.

What this desk can do.

  • Write the question, the sources in bounds, and the out-of-bounds list.
  • Assemble a public-source packet: filings, published pages, open data, with citations.
  • Use attorney-directed language where counsel is instructing the non-investigative work.

What requires a licensee.

  • Surveillance, stakeouts, or monitoring a person’s movements.
  • Locating a person, including a spouse, partner, employee, or relative.
  • Hacking, credential use, account access without authorization, or pretexting.
  • Doxxing, or compiling a dossier on a private individual.
  • Any other act that is investigation rather than public-source research.

Routing

The licensee is retained by you or your counsel.

This site does not publish a roster of investigators and does not name a firm. No license number appears here because SP Hunt does not hold one.

When a request crosses into investigation, the desk stops. You or your counsel retain a licensed California private investigator directly, under their license.

SP Hunt does not subcontract that work. The non-investigative remainder, if any, continues only under a written scope.

Not a law firm.

Nothing on this page is legal advice. SP Hunt does not represent clients, does not appear as counsel, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. Counsel, if you have it, remains yours.

State the question. If it is investigative, the brief should say so — the desk will decline that part.
